The tallest gothic style church in medieval Europe firstly was mentioned in 1267. It was named after Norwegian king Olav Havaldsson, who was canonized as a saint and was defender for sailors. It was built so high better to see and recognize city from the sea side. Church was burnt down many times, and one can say that fire could be seen even from Finland. Nowadays it is 123 meters high and from the top of church climbing by 232 steps you can catch beautiful panorama views to the city.

Somewhere I read - those who visit Paris climb the Eiffel tower, those who visit Tallinn, need to climb Oleviste church!
