Undoubtedly the best way to see Venice is on foot and it's fun wandering around the tiny streets (and invariably getting lost). However, this gets tiring so it's a good idea to buy a pass for the Vaporetto water buses, enabling you to 'hop on, hop off' as many times as you like. They can be bought from any Vaporetto ticket office. A 24-hour card costs 12 euros and a 72-hour card, 25 euros.
