"Arriving to Budapest the best..." Budapest Transportation Tip by Olyo

Budapest Transportation: 561 reviews and 600 photos

Arriving to Budapest the best is by plane. (Use our national airline, MALEV, which has many special offers.) It takes about almost an hour to get inside the city center. Besides taxi, there's cheap midibus (6-7 $) and public transport bus.
Another option there's is a big bus network (EUROLINES) which connects Budapest with other big European cities.
Trains are ok, cheap, use your ID! Expect some delays sometimes.
I think ship is mainly used to go to Vienna or to see some nice places along the Danube in Hungary.
Daytime public transport is maybe the best of those cities that I have seen in Europe. 2 reasons: tickets are cheap and easy to use (0.5 $) (we don't have the difficult Zone system) + the network is very dense, frequency is high. With one ticket you can use 1 transport line (bus, tramway, trolleybus, metro, subway) for as many stations as u want.

Type: Bus
