House of Blackheads, Riga: 43 reviews and 100 photos

This beautiful building in Dutch Renaissance style is actually quite new, finished only in 2001 for Riga's 800th anniversary. It's a replica of a building which was first mentioned in 1334 as property of the Great Guild. In 1713 ownership was transfered to the Blackheads, a brotherhood of unmarried foreign merchants and it was named accordingly.
The original building was destroyed in 1941.
There's a café on the groundfloor aswell as some exhibits about the history of the building.
