"Snir Stream" Israel Things to Do Tip by Nathalie_B

Israel Things to Do: 781 reviews and 1,392 photos

Not far from Qyriat Shemona, in the Golan Heights area, there is a Snir Stream running in both Israel and Lebanon. Lebanese call it "Hatzbani" and we use this name too.
This nature reserve offers to its visitors a great hike along the stream, which is running through the national park. There are two hiking trails, the longer one takes about 2 hours and takes into the nature with running water and small-sized waterfalls. Make sure you're ready to get wet, in some parts of the trail you'll have to walk in the water or even mud.
It is not suggested to enter the water pools, unless there's a sign that permitts bathing.
You'll be accompanied by many red dragonflies, they are everywhere, and add a lot to the scenery. There are plenty of birds and animals too, but it is difficult to get close to them, 'cause they are being very carefull during the day time.

Directions: Follow the road 90, at Qyriat Shmona turn to road 99 and follow the signs to the Snir Stream
