"Lilly" Île de Porquerolles Local Custom Tip by JLBG
Île de Porquerolles Local Customs: 2 reviews and 4 photos
I had forgotten that I had not completely identified this lilly found in the shade, under bushes on the island of Porquerolles in September. The photo is not very good as there was not much light. I will add the exact name as soon as possible.
Thank you Leyle (VT TheWanderingCam) for giving me the name of that lilly. It is Amarillys Belladona, also called belladonna lily, March lily, naked lady. It is not a local plant but was introduced into cultivation in Europe at the beginning of the eighteenth century from South Africa. It has now escaped from gardens and settled in many places with a warm climate, such as Porquerolles. Thank you Leyle!
