"See Central Brussels from above" City Views Tip by DanielF
City Views, Brussels: 12 reviews and 33 photos
Despite one of Flanders's nicknames being the plat pays, Brussels is not flat at all. The historic centre (Ville baisse) is located in the Senne Valley, while the rest of the city is scattered between different hills. This urban structure provides a good number of vantage points over the city centre.
Poelaert Place is built upon a terrace on a hill that dominates the entire ville baisse. In my opinion, this is not the prettiest view over Brussels, but probably the most comprehensive. From here you understand what central Brussels is all about, with its tall office towers rubbing shoulders with Medieval belfries and churches.
From here, you can clearly see the National Basilica stanting on the Hill of Koekelberg and, on clear days, your view reaches as far as the Atomium.
