I liked the Sosua beach very much. There was something for everyone: the whole thing was organized so, that as you arrived to the beach area after the souvenir shop chain, first you saw some very nice and expensive looking bars and snack bars. I was lucky enough to have met local people and they knew how to advice me.

First there were tourist places, many even owed by foreigners moved to the Dominican. But if you just kept on walking, almost to the end, you found the less expensive booths kept by the locals who were very nice. Still same services, beverages sold, sunbeds taken care of, everything. I at least save a lot of money during my 2 weeks trip. And I rather support the quite poor locals than the rich Europeans or Americans.

Also, the first beach areas were more full of tourists and more people. OK for those who like it. For those who like a little more privacy, I recommend the local places a little further away.

The sandy beach and the sea water itself were just great.
