The road up West Mountain can be driven from either end. The south entrance is on Prospect Avenue about 1 mile (1.6km)west of Bathhouse road. The north entrance is off Whittington Ave about 1 mile from the north end of Bathhouse road. The road had significant traffic as some local drivers use it to avoid having to pass up the slow moving Central Ave. along Bathhouse Row. If you're interested in a slower pace, take the West Mountain Summit Drive up to the top of West Mountain. Since you'll have to come back the same way, there are only visitors up here. There are several overlooks with views of the city and the forests, as well as three trails that begin or end at the overlooks. Take a short walk or a long walk.
