The Singapore National Library is spread over two 16 story buildings covering an area of 11,034 sqms. The latest building was only opened in 2005 and is linked to the older building by skybridges. There is a lending library in basement 1. There is also a drama centre on 4 levels and a reference library. The elevators give a great view of the city. Amazingly there are gardens and a open courtyard on the 5th level and a retreat on the 10th. The amount of glass used allows for plenty of natural light.
