"Getting to Ottawa" Ottawa Transportation Tip by oceania26

Ottawa Transportation: 96 reviews and 118 photos

With the assumption most people would be coming to Ottawa from Toronto, here are some options:

Rent a car - Canada's one of those places where travelling by car is much more convenient and sometimes the only option since public transport doesn't go everywhere. It takes about 4 or 5 hours from Toronto depending on traffic and the directions are pretty straightforward - you take 401 East, to 416 N, 417 W and take Nicholas exit to get downtown or you can take the more scenic route by taking Hwy 37 from the 401 which goes through small towns such as Sharbot Lake, Tweed. Also an excellent opportunity to visit 1000 Islands along the way as well.

By bus - you can take the Greyhound coach - www.greyhound.ca

Plane - it's about a 45min flight via Air Canada or West Jet airlines

From Montreal - its 1.5 hour drive by car....again you can take the Greyhound if you're travelling by bus or by plane with the same companies I already mentioned..
