"Like in Austria or Bavaria?" Top 5 Page for this destination Biltmore Estate Tip by matcrazy1
Biltmore Estate, Asheville: 77 reviews and 216 photos
After a long visit to the Biltmore House and Gardens I came back by the House Shuttle (bus) to my parking lot and hit my car to the Biltmore Winery. From a parking lot I had to pass by small but nice looking wooden, garden passage to see long and narrow street between white houses decorated with flowers. The street ends with clock tower with wooden cover topped with a metal wind rose. This very elegant winery, completely renovated in 1985, was originally the estate's dairy barn and milk production facility. Well, it seems that wine makes more profits than milk nowadays.
Believe or not, looking at winery exterior, I thought I was either in Austrian or Bavarian (southern Germany) sub-Alpean, mountain village. Both German and Austrian wines are well known in Europe although especially the Austrian ones are under-rated. Hmm... I have never seen any American wine in wine stories in Poland except numerous Californian ones and rarely some from Oregon or Washington state.
