Bab Kissan (or Kaysan), a 13th century city gate, was known as the Gate of Saturn during Roman times. In the early 20th century, it was incorporated into the construction of a chapel, named St Paul (Mar Bulos), to mark the spot where supposedly St Paul was lowered in a basket to escape the city. While it is believed that this event occurred at the eastern wall of Damascus, the actual position is disputable. The church is run by the Greek Catholics and is accessible from outside the city wall, but one has to walk south from Bab Sharqi along the wall to reach it.

Address: Bab Kaysan
