"Time For Lunch and Rest" Le Jardin du Luxembourg Tip by painterdave
Le Jardin du Luxembourg, Paris: 100 reviews and 236 photos
We used the gardens of Paris as a stopping point for lunch. If you plan ahead you can bring your inexpensive lunch, find a park bench and enjoy an hour or two of people watching. Parisians are proud of their parks and they are well kept. When the sun is out, you will find them there taking advantage of the good weather.
We used the Luxembourg Gardens on many occasions as it has a play area for children with structures, pony rides, and I think I remember a carousel, too.
There is also a large park across from the Louvre in the direction of the Eifel Tower. This park even has restaurant located in the center.
If you are seeing Paris with young children, these places can save your vacation. Give the kids and yourself a break and let them have some fun. Museums with children all day can be a nightmare for parents--and the kids. Bring a bit of extra spare change for the carousels, the kids will want to ride them more than once. There are many of these carousels around Paris, some very well kept up.
