"The Opera itself" Wiener Staatsoper - State Opera House Tip by Beograd

Our guide took us behind the stage and on it as much as possible because it was being prepared for New Year's Opera. It was interesting seeing all the people working on the stage an preparing it. It is huge! They can prepare a few stages upfront so that they can be changed during the show. A lot of technical people is required for this sort of art :)

The theatre was probably the most stunning. At first I thought that it looked much bigger on TV and pictures but in fact it is very big. It has room for around 2000 viewers. That is includin booths, seating places and standing places. It has the shape of a horse shoe which makes quite a few places useless because the stage can't be seen. And those places are not just those cheap ones! NO! The royal booth is one of them. But for the "royal paar" it was much more important to be seen there than to actually see the Opera. Then there is the central royal booth which was used when they have official visitors. Otherwise it could've been sold out to public like any other but on much higher price.
