Tiburon, like Sausalito, lies on the northern shore of San Francisco Bay. It's similar to Sausalito, but smaller and less-visited. Tiburon is somewhat more laid-back, and less of a tourist place. It has some nice, quiet streets, restaurants, shops, wine-tasting, and more.

Regular ferry service is provided by the Blue and Gold Fleet, from Fisherman's Wharf. It offers spectacular views of San Francisco Bay, and the surrounding areas.

One particular point of local interest is the Social Saloon. The steamship SS China was taken out of service in 1879. Before she was burned, the superstructure was removed and made into a waterfront residence called the China Cabin. In 1978, it was to be demolished. But a local preservation group saved and restored it. In 1986, it was reopened as a social gathering place.
