Corn Stalls along the old trunk road: "Gurun - Buying Jagung (Corn)" Negeri Kedah Shopping Tip by SLLiew

Along the old main route 1 at Gurun, you will see many road side stalls selling jagung which is the Malay name for corn or maize. This is so far the only place that I have seen selling corn on the road side.

Then you look around - off the road and you will see corn fields behind. You can buy either raw cobs of corn or ready freshly cooked cobs or a styrofoam cup of buttered steamed corn separated from the cob.
