  Palazzo Geremia in Via Belenzani

Palazzo Pona Geremia was built along Via Belenzani in the XIIIth by the Pona family that came from Verona. It is better known under the name Geremia that became the name of the Pona living in Trento. It was the nickname of Giovanni Antonio Pona, the elder son of the first immigrants.

The front of Palazzo Geremia is entirely painted with frescoes that represent various scenes connected with Giovanni Antonio Pona Geremia. The painter who frescoed the fašade belonged probably to a group of artists from Verona and Vicenza in the late XVth.
Close ups in next tips.

It is the first complete example of Renaissance architecture in the city and the prototype of several palaces built later.
Via Belenzani was the main avenue in old Trento and was followed by the members of the famous Council of Trento.
