TAAL !! The entire Tagaytay's tourism industry revolves around this one word - Taal. Take a boat from Talisay (we paid Peso 1500 for the entire boat), cross the waters and in that process get half wet. You will see a fleet of these boats at the island and as you get in, you pay 50 pesos entrance fee, 500 pesos for donkey rental with handler. Don't save this 500 peso or you will regret it. The walk to the top is by no means easy unless you can run a half marathon or live in Taal. It takes about 40 minutes to get to the top via donkey, and then you get pestered by little girls selling bottled water for 30 pesos. Have a heart and buy your handler a bottle. I went for the coconut, 35 pesos, which I think is great. The view is greater. If you see steam coming up from the ground, do not ever stick your little finger into it as curiosity will burn your little finger. When you reach the top, you can walk/climb the last part which will take about another 10 minutes. When you are ready to leave, you descend upon the same donkey.
