"Harbin Airport" Harbin Transportation Tip by walterwu

Harbin Transportation: 28 reviews and 14 photos

Harbin Airport is an international airport. The building looks rather old and more like a domestic airport.

At the baggage claim belts, there are a couple of changing rooms with chairs provided in each cubicle. You can change into your winter clothes, if required, before passing exiting the arrival/baggage belt area.

Once passed the custom / baggage checks, the public toilet is pathetic and smelly. You would not want to change in the public toilet.

However, if you are heading directly into a waiting coach or taxi, you may not really need to put on heavy gears (down jacket, gloves, hats, scarfs) unless you are unable to withstand a very short duration of cold. The buses/coaches bay and taxi stand is just outside the terminal (about 5 metres I reckon).

There are no Arrival / Departure monitors for information on arriving and departing flights. Need to pay close attention to announcements for passengers taking flight out of the airport.

Taxi metered fare from Airport to downtown is about 150 RMB (max). Avoid private taxi touts even though it is cheaper.
