Richmond National Battlefield Park consists of 7,300 acres in downtown, south along the I-95 corridor, and to the east of the city along I-295. The park consists of various Civil War sites, forts, and battlefields including the Chimborazo Medical Museum, Gaines' Mill Battlefield, Cold Harbor Battlefield, Gaines' Mill Battlefield, Malvern Hill Battlefield, Fort Harrison, Drewry's Bluff, and Parker's Battery. The best way to find these sites is by grabbing a map at one of the visitors center and following the park trail. Hitting each of the major sites could take anywhere from a half day to a full day.

The Richmond Petersburg Campaign of June 1864 to May 1865 consisted of 6 major battles, plus countless skirmishes, assaults and other engagements resulting in a combined 70,000 casualties. After the fall of Petersburg, the war in Virgina lasted just 7 more days, and the end of the Civil War was in sight.

The park headquarters & visitors center is located at the Tradegar Iron Works building in downtown Richmond, while smaller visitors centers are located at Cold Harbor, Malvern Hill, and Fort Harrison.

Address: 470 Tredegar Street, Richmond
