Day 9 : Melbourne

Near the Royal Botanical Gardens you also find the Shrine of Remembrance.

This impressive monuments honours the Australian soldiers which died during the war, this monument is inspired on the mausoleum of Halicarnassus in Little-Asia (nowadays this is Turkey).

It was also possible to go to the upper deck, from where you had a splendid view over the Melbourne skyline and over the Royal botanical gardens,

There was no entrance fee.

In front of the Shrine of remembrance there was another remembrance statue and an eternal flame for the Unknown Soldier.
