"Jolfa - Armenian quarter" Armenian Quarter Tip by js77

Armenian Quarter, Esfahan: 8 reviews and 13 photos

The houses of quarter are not as old as, for example, in Armenian quarter in Lviv, Ukraine, because it does not back to medieval times, but still it is very interesting to walk there, to see the way Christians are living in this strict Islamic country. The main objects of interest are few churches there. The people of Jolfa are dressing as liberal as it possible in Iran. They speak different language and although almost all of the signs on streets were in Persian, there were also few signs in Armenian. See my transportation tip about how to reach Jolfa.
