Chehel Sotun, Esfahan: 15 reviews and 31 photos

The name is translated as Palace of 40 Columns although the palace has only 20 columns. The other 20 columns can be seen in the pool. The highlight of visiting a palace will be historical frescoes, small and big. Some of them show the shah fighting in battlefield. The palace was built in 17th century, but after fire it was rebuilt in the beginning of 18th century.
