"Transport to and from the Great Wall" Beijing Transportation Tip by clairegeordio

We travelled to and from the Great Wall, Mutianyu with a contact that we had made through homanded on VT. He is called Alvin and he was so helpful during all of our visit to Beijing. He accompanied us to our hotel via taxi from the airport and made sure we checked in ok. He showed us the local vicinity around the hotel including taking us to the nearest supermarket. He took us in his mini van to and from the Great wall and accompanied us answering any questions we had. He also booked tickets for us at the Chaoyang Theater on our last day and even accompanied us by taxi there to make sure we got there ok. He is not an official guide, he is the Commercial Tourism Dept Manager for a Travel Service company,so did not charge a fixed price, but obviously we did give him some money in exchange for all of his efforts and for petrol.
