  • Banteay Samre - Angkor Wat

Banteay Samre is ancient Angkor ruin not far from Banteay Srei. Visitors usually combined an excursion here to a visit to Banteay Srei. So did I. It is quite remote and peaceful.

It got its name from the people called Samre who lived at the foot of Mount Kulen. The people living in the village of Pradak are said to be their descendents.

You can notice the similarity of this temple with Angkor Wat, from the towers and the walkways.
