When we got to Tranekær castle was closed but a garden with some ”nature art” was open. We did not use much time on this as there was to many mosquitoes so we made a walk around the leak where we found this very nice sign;
The trees prayer:
You who pass me by and maybe thinking on raising your hand against me. Listen before you harm me. I am the heat on your fireplace on the cool winter nights, the friendly shadow that shield you from the summer sun. I am the beam that hold your house, the planks on your table, the bed where in you lie, the boat you build. I am the shaft on you tools, the door of your home, your cradles rocker your coffins board. I am the goodness bread and the flower of beauty. You who pass me by listen to my prayer: Do not harm me.
The little sub text says that it comes from an old Portuguese text translated from English by the Danish poet Frank Jæger, Given to Tranekær manor by a former forest student Mr. Jeremy Bradford in 1959.
Directions: On the island of Langeland, between Fyn and Lolland.
