"Neptunbrunnen (Neptune fountain)" Neptune Fountain - Neptunbrunnen Tip by hojasdehierba


This beatiful fountain is a work by Reinhold Begas and dates back from 1891. Under the surface of a mythologic iconography, the feminine statues of the fountain stand for the four main rivers in Germany: Rhin, Elba, Oder and Weichsel. It is located at the Rotes Rathaus square, very close to Alexanderplatz.
Esta bonita fuente es obra de Reinhold Begas y data de 1891. Bajo la superficie de una iconografia de tema mitologico, las figuras femeninas de la fuente representan los cuatro rios principales de Alemania: Rhin, Elba, Oder y Weichsel. Esta situada en la plaza del Ayuntamiento Rojo, muy cerca de Alexanderplatz.
