"RSPB Bird Sanctuary" Top 5 Page for this destination Kent Things to Do Tip by Mariajoy
Kent Things to Do: 122 reviews and 271 photos
Not far from the power station is the RSPB bird sanctuary. Visitors can warm themselves up with a coffee from a self-service machine and watch the birds from the indoor viewing area. Or they can brave the bitter winds and go out on the shingle (following the designated paths) and watch the birds (bring binoculars) in their natural habitat.
When we visited there was also an ornithological photographic display in the gallery area.
The approach road is shingle, very long and VERY pot-holed - Drive carefully.
Disabled visitors are well-considered - with paths easily accessible for wheelchair users.
Entry is free to the visitors centre but the nature trail must be paid for - please see the website for more details.
Directions: Dungeness - follow the signs
