Dune 45 is the famous dune here that all tourist stopping by and most climbing up to. The name comes probably from the 45th km on the road from Sesriem and not from the 45 minutes approximately that takes to climb the dune? However, I think that sand in the shoes and walking on empty is not such a great fun as sliding down in a minute the distance you climb in an hour :-) Now I do appreciate even more the lifts they have in ski resorts ;-)
