The quiet Church of Santo Tome contains The Burial of the Count of Orgaz, a masterpiece by El Greco, who lived in the city for much of his life.

This painting is one of the most popular sights in Toledo and it can be seen in a small chapel in Santo Tome. The Count of Orgaz was a well-known 14th century figure and the painting depicts his funeral. Included are two angels, the writer Miguel de Cervantes and the El Greco himself.

The rest of the church is free to visit but it sees little visitors compared to the chapel containing the painting. It costs a couple of Euros to enter and visitors are forbidden from taking pictures.
