Cheong Fatt Tze mansion: "Penang - Cheong Fatt Tze" Malaysia Hotel Tip by ant1606

The "Blue Mansion" belonged to Cheong Fatt Tze, a wealthy Chinese merchant said to be the last Mandarin. Built accordingly to Feng Shui mixed with western-minded concepts, the building has been completely restored after years of abandon and it's today a museum and a hotel at the same time. Parts of the mansion are open to guided visits while guests are obviously allowed to feel at home in this exquisite environment.
Definitely an extraordinary, eccentric and reasonably priced accommodation solution in Penang island.

Unique Qualities: The rooms are nicely decorated and air conditioning is pumped to the extreme, actually too cold to survive. After turning it down and killing the mosquitoes in the room we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Breakfast is served in the large room separated by the sumptuous wooden door-wall from "lobby" area.
Hotel policy is to assign all guests a personal attendant to serve needs. Pretending service doesn't necessarily mean pretending servants though.
There are two computers with internet connection which guests can use for free, and with the courtesy of not having the next user wait for too long.
