I found Hotel Torino through another Parma page here on VT and I didn't get disappointed. Although we had some problems to actually find the hotel (but I blame that on myself, as usual...) it was easily the best hotel we stayed at during our 4-days trip in Milan and Parma.

It's a 3* hotel right in the city center, just a couple of 100 meters from both the Duomo of Parma and Piazza Garibaldi.

We got a room on the top floor, with a fantastic balcony. View over the cupol of the Chiesa della Steccata, and very calm. Since it was great weather when we got there we skipped lunch for another 40 minutes, and instead sat down in the chairs, just taking pleasure from the very nice sunshine. Apparently we were lucky, since we got a "room with view" instead of a standard room without asking for it.

The room was very big, and also had a big bathroom. Bed was spacious and very comfortable.

Breakfast was served on the bottom floor, and was, for being an italian breakfast, very nice. Top notch was the cappuccino of course.

Only negative thing was the price. When making the reservation we were told the price for the room would be 100 euro. A bit too high compared to what we paid in Milan, but still of good value seeing the quality of the room.
But when we checked out in the morning price had suddently been raised to 110 euro...? Not much to talk about, but still irritating that they say one price, and then take out another, higher.

Unfortunately we were really late for the train, so there was no time to start discussing the new price. But keep an eye on the price you actually pay when you get there.

The hotel has a garage which guests can use for a fee. It's open 24 hours, and breakfast is served between 7.00 and 10.00. All common credit cards accepted.

Unique Qualities: The central location, the view, the BALCONY!! And the bed.

Address: Via A. Mazza, 7, , Parma, Emilia-Romagna 43100
Comparison: about average
Directions: About one kilometer from the Central station. We just walked straight on more or less, ask for Teatro Regio and you'll see the sign of Hotel Torino just across the street.
Price: US$80-120
