"Theatres by the bay" Singapore Things to Do Tip by M.E.R.V

Singapore Things to Do: 1,995 reviews and 3,531 photos

The stunning Esplanade Theatre is a world class venue for the local and international performing arts scene. Its thorn sharp roof structure has been described by the locals as a "durian", which is a kind of smelly fruit with thorns that literally kills if it falls on you (read my local customs tips on this). The ground floor is also lined with many fancy restaurants, bars and clubs that come alive at night. It is a great place to take photos especially if you like architecture. You get a great view of the Marina area including the Esplanade if you stay in one of the swanky hotels around. Try checking out if there is a good local play showing, it is worth the experience at least.
