"Dunbrody Famine Ship" New Ross Things to Do Tip by kevarms

New Ross Things to Do: 2 reviews and 1 photos

A reconstruction of the sailing ship SS Dunbrody which took thousands of immigrants from famine-struck Ireland to North America. Many of them died on the voyage in horribly cramped conditions. A couple of costumed characters tell the story of why these people put themselves through this and what life was like on board. Entertaining yet poignant.

Directions: on the quays and hard to miss. There aren't many 19th century sailing vessels moored there :)
