Again, one of the places that had been touted as a "Must do" while in Kenya.
We were glad to have come to it but would not consider it a "Must DO" if you're on a limited time schedule.

Long drive from Nairobi (about 30=45 mins) through some seedy then beautiful areas of Nairobi. Everything seems to co-exist in sharp contrast in Kenya...then, driving past Karen Blixen's house museum and unto the spacious gardens which are Giraffe Manor.
It was built in the 1930's by a british Lord; Sir David Duncan and emcompasses over 120 acres of beautiful land.
The Ngong Hills are the ones depicted in the movie "Out of Africa" written by Karen Blixen.
It serves as a breeding refuge for Rothchild giraffes wihch at one point were highly endangered.

The conservatory and re-hab center is actually where the giraffes are more approachable.
You're able (for a nominal fee), enter and walk up unto the platform/treehouse where you stand eye to eye with various giraffes and feed them pellets.
If you "swing that way", you may place pellets in your mouth and giraffes will kiss you as they remove the pellet.

Before you judge - C'mon, you know you wish you could! How many other times will you get a chance for a picture like the one on this page!?!
