"Alilaguna waterbus to and from the airport" Airport - Marco Polo and Treviso Tip by nicolchris

Airport - Marco Polo and Treviso, Venice: 107 reviews and 147 photos

A great way to get from the airport to Venice. Come out of arrivals and head to the left, there will be ticket booths next to the exit. Buy tickets from there (about ?12 each to Piazza San Marco) then head out and follow the signs to the left heading for the Alilaguna port. Once at the port you will pass private run taxis which are way more expensive unless you are travelling with 6 or more people. The Alilaguna port is right at the end and their boat is about 4 or 5 times the size of the private taxis so its not to hard not to spot.

Its an hour into venice and it makes a few stops on the way but its all worth it as the route across the Lagoon is very scenic.

Getting back is to the airport is easy enough. Go to the landing port at the south of St Marks Square and pay the guy at the ticket booth, I think off season (when I went) the service runs every hour at 55 mins past the hour. I am guessing in peak season this will be more frequent.

One thing to note though is there is a direct boat to the airport, its twice as much but takes half the time so there is an alternative if you are in a rush but don't want to fork out for a taxi.
