Boat Trips on Rhine River, Speyer: 2 reviews and 2 photos

There are two companies with sightseeing tours on the Rhine. Firstly, one leaving from by the riverside pubs near the Technical Museum. This one runs from spring to autumn (last weekend in October) but we just missed it as of course there was no tour on All Saint's Day, the time of our visit...it has an A-board down by the jetty, claiming that you will see a lot of birdlife on this tour. Secondly, there is M/S SeaLife which docks just outside the SeaLife centre and runs all year round it seems. We never went on that either as we had just missed their lunch departure and the afternoon one would have been in dusk, with the clocks just being reset to winter time. Therefore, I cannot give you any personal opinions but of course a river cruise is always nice and I'd imagine that you get good views of the cathedral from the distance even if the Rhine is not at its most dramatic here, but has rather flat surroundings. The boats also offer coffee and other drinks as well as being fun for children of course.

Address: Various in Speyer
Directions: Behind the cathedral, follow footpath to SeaLife. Alternatively, go down the Rhine close to the Technical Museum (cross the railway line) and there is the other boat.
