The best way to experience the Great Wall of China is of course to climb up the slope and stairs on your own. This may be quite tiring and require resting, especially if you are not so physically conditioned. Another option is to go up using the cable car but this requires more time and will be crowded during the peak seasons. There are various signboards in both Chinese and English which will show you your location and directions to all the different facilities, so it is actually quite easy to move around. Be careful of your belongings especially during crowded season.
