"Green back and dimes and nickels" United States of America Local Custom Tip by SLLiew

Beware that US dollar bills look alike, similar color and size. At a border in San Diego, I saw a Mexican jumping up and down because he has paid with a US$100 bill away thinking it was US$1.

Also it took me awhile to decide how much a nickel, two dimes and 3 quarters add up to. So the nomenclature is:
1 cent - penny
5 cents - nickel
10 cents - dime
25 cents - quarter

The nickel is also larger than the dime.

I brought along a bottle of Malaysian 1 cent coins on my first trip thinking it will be a cheap souvenir for American future friends. Other Malaysian students there thought I was very smart. Later I found out that some laundramat and vending machines there had signs that say "Do not use Malaysian coins"!

It seems that the 1 Malaysian cent is same size as US dime. So that is a difference of 380 times in jump of value. Don't try.
