Probably the best way to visit Hósök Tere is by underground train and then you get the maximum impact of this impressive square as you emerge from the subway station.

It's a huge square, with attractively patterned paving tiles, and in the middle is the Millennium Monument. The Monument has a tall central column with the Archangel Gabriel on top and equestrian statues of Prince Árpád and 6 conquering Magyar warriors at the base. On either side of the column are colonnades housing statues of famous Hungarian leaders and politicians.

In front of the Monument is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

To the left of the Monument is the Museum of Fine Arts, which houses the largest collection of Spanish art outside Spain and on the opposite side of the square is the Palace of Art.
