Arthies: "ARTHIE'S ... The Art of Eating." Arthies Tip by rosemarymc

Arthies, Brugge: 22 reviews and 5 photos

This was a flying trip to Bruges, and having walked round the usual tourist sights during the morning it was nice to get slightly away from the crowds into this little oasis of calm. As we entered the restaurant we were warmly greeted in a variety of languages, and listening to others being welcomed, it is apparent that several languages are spoken fluently. The menu will appeal to everyone, tempting even those who have tested the local Belgian chocolate to excess.
We discovered the restaurant by chance and as is often the case chance discoveries are fortunate. A very short walk from the heart of the tourist area also means that the cost is much more reasonable.

Favorite Dish: After much deliberation we both decided to have Steak Rocquefort, I hear you saying 'Typical English!!!' but the steak was just beautiful. It was served on big white platters with a crisp salad and looked as good as it tasted.

Does being English mean that we think we are the experts on what a good steak should be? If so then I would say that this was a great meal. If not why not give it a try yourself?

There was a differnce in our choice for dessert... one of us opted for the ice cream with caramel sauce, while the other indulged in more chocolate in the form of the home made chocolate mousse. Both were excellent, although I have to say the mousse was pure indulgence!
