Yaly: "Tailor Made Clothing" Hoi An Shopping Tip by amansfield

Hoi An Shopping: 109 reviews and 142 photos

Were went to Hoi An as part of a tour and initially had not plans to have anything made after hearing so many horror stories. However, another couple of the tour had had a recommendation from friends of theirs to go to Yaly and our tour guide also told us it was the "top" tailors in Hoi An. We decided to go and had a wonderful time! We wished we had thought about it before (others had brought photos with them of what they wanted made - we looked through the magazines they had). We were very happy with what we got and wear it. Some others on the tour went to cheaper tailors (there are over 600 in Hoi An) and had mixed results - a couple of pieces were great, others were shoddily made

What to buy: We had work clothes made - 2 wool cashmere suits, 2 pairs of trousers, 5 shirts, 2 raw silk lined skirts, 3 lined line dresses, a tailored silk trouser suits for a wedding.

What to pay: Grand total for all of ours was $US500. You can get things made for less but often you get what you pay for...
