"Gypsies and Beggars" Venice Warnings Or Dangers Tip by GuitarStan

Venice Warnings and Dangers: 275 reviews and 319 photos

We were in Italy for 2 weeks and I read much about pick-pockets, gypsies and beggars. The gypsies will come up to you with babies in their arms begging for money, especially in and around train stations. Give them no attention and they leave you alone. As for pick-pockets, not once did we feel we were gonna get pick-pocketed. I kept all of our valuables in a very deep pocket in my pants, heck I could barely get anything out of it! I took a money belt and never used it because I felt it wasn't needed. Be careful and don't leave anything unattended.
