"Lake Minnewanka" Lake Minnewanka Tip by david1982

Lake Minnewanka, Banff: 6 reviews and 19 photos

A great introduction to Banff, Lake Minnewanka provides some spectacular scenery to prepare you for the wonders of Banff.

A good place to come to to marvel at the mountains, have a picnic, see some horned sheep, and go out on the lake in a boat.

There are some interesting board by the shore explaining the history of Lake Minnewanka.

Only problem was the nearby building site, kinda spoiled the atmosphere.

Address: Banff National Park Alberta Canada
Directions: Lake Minnewanka is best reached on the way to Banff from Canmore just after you pass the booths where you buy your Parks Pass. The lake is located about 40km from the main highway.
