To get up to the peak you can either drive, walk (!) or take the funicular railway, which cost about 30hkd per person return. The railway runs all day, about every 15 mins, but can get really crowded so you could be waiting a short while to go up. It takes you slowly up the steep slope in little carriages, and stops when the view over the bay is revealed so everyone can get their cameras out for a few breathtaking shots.

At the top is a small shopping centre with lots of 'tat' shops and a couple of eating places. On warm days you can sit outside of the building, directly overhanging the mountain side below. Friendly sparrows hop about the restaurant tables here looking for food, even in the blusteriest weather.

There is often a heavy cloud/pollution cover over HK so go up on the clearest day your holiday offers, the views are just amazing.

Address: Hongkong Island
Directions: Take a cab. They are cheap and the island can be difficult to navigate on foot once you're away from the shops.
