It is on the map at Bu Jono's, so we thought to go there: a waterfall north of Sileri crater.
The road is good up to Sileri crater (4,5 km from Dieng), and there is some parking space.
Yet we tried to drive farther with our Isuzu Panther, but had to leave it halfway: too difficult climbing up the rocky road.
From Sileri crater it should be a walk of 1 hour up to Bitingan village; after you pass a ridge the road goes mostly down; when it branches, take the left one.
At Bitingan someone volunteered to guide us. Well he did, because the trail through the fields and down into the gorge was not easy to find. The climb into the gorge is not easy, you go down perhaps 100 m and have to climb up again. Going down and coming back takes an hour at least.
But the effort was worthwile, an undisturbed waterfall. Actually there are two seen from above, but we went down to the foot of one of them. Even at the end of the dry season a good flow of water.
Back in the village our guide suggested a bath in the local hot bathing place. Quite relaxing after the effort. A pity that another hike uphill awaits you leaving the village back to Sileri crater, so that you become all sweaty again.
Our guide: Pak Rohman, Dusun Bitingan, Desa Kepakisan, Batur, Banjarnegara, RT 4 / RW 4, kode pos 53456.
He did not know what to ask for his assistance, and was quite happy with the Rp 50,000 we gave him.
