Lent is a medieval town area by the river Drava, which stretches from the Judgement Tower to the Water Tower. The towers form a part of the former old town fortification wall.
The Judgement Tower dates from the 14th century and is one of the defence towers that were a part of the fortification walls. Around 1540 it was built in a fortress shape, today's image dates from the year 1830. It got its name during the time when judgement and sentences were passed here. Due to its shape the Judgement Tower is also known as the Round Tower, and due to the nearby Minorite monastery complex, it’s also known as the Monastery Tower.
