"Emerald Lake" Yoho National Park Things to Do Tip by david1982

Yoho National Park Things to Do: 104 reviews and 203 photos

Emerald Lake - the main attraction in Yoho. It is utterly amazing on a clear day, quite possibly the best part of my trip to the Rockies.

There's a few hikes to do here, I did the 5.2km one round the lake which doesn't take too long. The only spoiler is that there's Emerald Lodge resort which you pass through right at the end which ruins it a bit. At the time there were lodges being built which kind of ruined the atmosphere, having to clamber over bits of timber etc to get by.

But the lake was gorgeous, clear turquoise water, mountains completely jaw dropping.

At the time of visit alot of the roads were being closed for winter, luckily Emerald Lake had not been, so make sure you get there before October!

Address: On the Trans Canada Highway to Lake Louise
