"Boston Light" Lighthouses Tip by Ewingjr98

Lighthouses, Boston: 2 reviews and 2 photos

Boston Light is North America's first lighthouse, and also America's last automated lighthouse. The light was first lit in 1716, but the tower was destroyed during the Revolution and reconstructed in 1783, making it the second oldest lighthouse tower in America.

During the American Revolution, the colonists burned the lighthouse twice and the British rebuilt it, only to blow it up when they left the city in 1776.
